Having lived in 3 different countries over the last 20 years has given me exposure to so many different cultures and perspectives, that I find it really interesting, that even though all of us are so different, yet at the very core, we are all so similar. I want to tell stories about that.

I want to tell stories that are relatable even if the premise seems far-fetched. I want to tell that we all have the same basic problems, likes, dislikes regardless of our differences. And in that even discover things about ourselves that we might not have known before.

Films are so much more than just mindless entertainment. They are a window to limitless possibilities and ideas.
— Eeshaan Roy

Eeshaan Roy originally hails from India, a vibrant and colorful country with more than two-thousand years of cultural history. He was born into a musical family, where the child first learns to sing or play a musical instrument before anything else. Hence, his inclination towards music and the arts from the early age of 5. When he moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as a 7 year old, he was exposed to a multi-cultural atmosphere, where he spent the next 12 years watching and listening to films and music from all over the world, as well as performing.

Eeshaan first realized his true passion for the arts, while studying Computer Science Engineering in the US. He was involved with a South-Asian A Capella group, Chai-Town, and along with that was more interested in Photography, Editing videos and short films rather than his major. Which then led him to move to India and complete his Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication, and then did his Masters of Fine Arts with honours in Filmmaking at New York Film Academy, Los Angeles.

Since his move to Los Angeles in 2013, Eeshaan has been involved in numerous projects as a writer, director, assistant director and various other aspects of filmmaking. He got to work with various long & short form content including working with Stan Zimmerman, writer of Gilmore Girls on his web-series, “Secs & Execs". With the experience he amassed in Los Angeles, he moved Mumbai, India, in 2017 to continue working and growing as a filmmaker.

In Mumbai, he has had the privilege to work as an Assistant Director with major production houses like Yash Raj Films, Dharma Production, Ellipsis Entertainment & Maddock Films over several films and series. He has honed and improved his craft by working with some of the top actors, directors and technicians that India & abroad have to offer. With his multi-cultural experience over the past 8 years in the film industry in LA and Mumbai, he is now looking to transition to the next phase of his career, as a writer and director. As a third culture kid, he aims to showcase his passion of storytelling through the art of moving pictures.
